Gavin James has spent the summer supporting Sam Smith around America, before opening for 2 x Ed Sheeran Croke Park shows in Dublin in front of 164,000 people and Taylor Swift in Hyde Park. A European and American headline tour is now on sale for later this year, featuring London’s Scala on December 8 and a four-night SELL OUT return run at Dublin’s Whelan’s from December 21-23.

Biography:
On his way to becoming one of 2016’s international crossover-stories, Gavin James was born in Ashington, a suburb on the northside of Dublin. The 23-year-old son of a postman, music was arguably in James’ blood: his great grandparents were both famous Irish Opera singers and had their own albums released in the early 1900s (they had to turn down an invitation to perform in London owing to their families, and the political conditions of the time). Having started out playing Jimi Hendrix covers in the garden shed, Gavin then drew the short straw when he was chosen as the singer of his teenage band, and learnt his subsequent solo craft the hard way. Inspired by local heroes like Damien Rice and classic, grafting Soul artists such as Sam Cooke, he would play Dublin’s pubs virtually 7 nights a week during college, in a marathon of 3-hour shows.

Growing in confidence, Gavin James’ own material then began to draw an impassioned following: his first ever single won Ireland’s answer to the Mercury (the Choice Prize for ‘Song Of The Year’), stayed on the charts for over 6 months and culminated with 2014’s #1-charting, ‘Live at Whelans’ album: a venue he used to sneak inside when underage, but returned to as a rapturously-received headliner. That night, he happened to perform an impulsive cover of The Magnetic Fields’ ‘The Book Of Love’, accelerating Gavin’s word-of-mouth success story (the track has since become a platinum-selling hit around Europe, with upwards of 6 million plays on Spotify).

With his first piece of recorded material – ‘For You’ – reaching number 1 in Ireland and going top 10 on iTunes in the US, Canada and Holland, Gavin James has inched closer to the spotlight with an appearance on ‘The Late Late Show With James Corden’. Continuing with ‘22’, lifted from sessions from his debut album, Gavin James looks poised to become the next great voice to shine a light back on the Dublin suburbs (and beyond).

SUEDE RELEASE THEIR STUNNING NEW ALBUM NIGHT THOUGHTS ON JANUARY 22, 2016

THE ALBUM IS ACCOMPANIED BY A FEATURE FILM DIRECTED BY ACCLAIMED PHOTOGRAPHER ROGER SARGENT, WHICH WILL BE RELEASED ON DVD AS PART OF A SPECIAL ALBUM PACKAGE.

THE BAND WILL PREMIERE BOTH THE FILM AND THE ALBUM WITH TWO DATES AT LONDON’S ROUNDHOUSE ON NOVEMBER 13^TH AND 14^TH  WHEN THEY PLAY THE ENTIRE ALBUM FROM START TO FINISH AGAINST THE BACKDROP OF THE FILM. THIS WILL BE THE GLOBAL PREMIERE OF BOTH FILM AND ALBUM.

Suede will release their brand new studio album Night Thoughts on January 22^nd .  The album, which features a full string section, was produced by long-time Suede collaborator Ed Buller. It was recorded at SARM studios in London and ICP in Brussels.

Night Thoughts, which also has an accompanying film directed by Roger Sargent, will be available as CD, CD+DVD, special edition CD/DVD hardback bookset and 180g double gatefold LP (+ download code).

On directing the film for Suede, Roger Sargent said:

“Suede and I have crossed paths a few times over the years. I sneaked onstage for their ‘93 Glastonbury show to get photos for NME… more recently I was asked directly to do some of the photography for the last album.

I was asked to pitch an idea for this film project… I really had no idea what they were wanting or expecting so I tried
 to write in the least self-conscious way possible. The record deals with a lot of familial themes — life, death, love, anguish and despair; themes that are expanded upon in its visual companion, providing a study of how those elements affect
the human psyche. It resonated with me for many reasons, not least because my mother passed away a few days after I started writing a story for the film. The film starts with a man drowning in the waters of a deserted beach at night, as he fights for life, his mind plays out the events that lead him to be there.”

On July 6, 2015, DODGE AND BURN was officially announced along with Third Man Records’ Vault Package #25 featuring the only limited edition version of the new album, the only physical version of new single “I Feel Love (Every Million Miles),” and more. The Dead Weather first united after Alison Mosshart’s band The Kills supported Jack White and Jack Lawrence’s band The Raconteurs on a string of North American dates. The trio followed the tour with a few informal recording sessions at White’s famed Third Man studio, soon augmented by Raconteurs collaborator/Queens of the Stone Age multi-instrumentalist Dean Fertita. The result proved extraordinary – The Dead Weather’s debut album, “HOREHOUND,” arrived in July 2009 to worldwide critical acclaim and a top 10 Billboard 200 chart debut. The four musicians celebrated the release with a 23-date North American tour before reconvening at Third Man in December for three further weeks of writing and recording.

Released less than a year after their debut, “SEA OF COWARDS” made it abundantly clear The Dead Weather had become more than a side project — White, Mosshart, Lawrence, and Fertita were now a band.
